currently happening with the Orlando Runners Club as
well as running news, social events, races and
'happenings' in Florida. Please forward this on to

the Orlando Runners Club.

Join Paul for a 5K group run on Thursday in
downtown Orlando. Meet at Mills Market on
the corner of Mills and Gore at 7pm. Contact

Ken runs Mon, Tues, Wed, & Fri at around
8:30 am in The Highlands, Winter Springs
(lots of shade). Contact Ken at dobmeier@yahoo.com.
Joe runs every Tuesday and Thursday morning
at 6:00 AM in Sweetwater/Sabal Point
neighborhoods. Typically 5-7 runners at
approx. 9 minute pace. Typical runs are 4 ˝
to 5 1/2 miles with goal of finishing by 7

Christine runs Tuesday and Thursday mornings
at 5:30 a.m. at Crane's Roost park behind
the Altamonte Mall, usually 3-4 miles at
about a 10 min. pace. Contact Christine at

Kevivn is looking for running groups that
meet in Seminole County, or possibly even in
west Volusia County. If you run in that

3rd Tuesday Fun Run & Movie |

Come join us on Tuesday, November 21,
2006 at 6:30 PM at O'Boys BBQ,
565 W. Fairbanks Ave in Winter Park, for an
early group run, then appetizers and a movie
on their big screen TV.
The run will start and end at O'Boys BBQ.
This will be a fun run. Runners of all paces
and ages are welcome. After the run, we'll
all meet in the back room at O'Boys, grab a
bite to eat and watch the movie on their big
screen TV.

OUC Half Marathon - PASTA Party |

Join the ORC and our guests from Japan
for a pasta dinner on Friday, December 1.
We will meet at a local restaurant for food
and fun, to "carb load" before the OUC half
marathon. All ORC members and their guests
are welcome; separate checks will be
arranged. The specific location and time
will be announced soon. Please email
Paul Yacobellis if you plan to attend so
we can make appropriate reservations.

ORC 2006 Annual Holiday Party |

The ORC 2006 Holiday Party is
Saturday night, December 2nd
beginning at 6:30 PM! Bring your
favorite dish to share and replenish your
energy stores after the OUC Half- Marathon.
Meats and drinks are provided by the club,
plus we'll have all the delicious surprise
dishes from your fellow runners.
We will also have a gift exchange. If you
would like to participate in the gift
exchange, bring a small, inexpensive
($5-$10) gift suitable for a male or a
female.
To get there: Join us at Vicki's
house, 1401 Westchester Avenue at the corner
of Orange and Westchester in Winter Park.

The Road Runners Club of America is the
national association of running clubs,
running events, and runners dedicated to
promoting long distance running as a
competitive sport and as healthful exercise.
RRCA's mission is to represent and promote
the common interest of its member clubs,
events, and individual runners through
education, leadership, programs and other

Urayasu Runners Are Coming to Orlando!

|
The ORC is very excited to welcome our guest
runners and friends from Urayasu, Japan
who will be arriving on Wednesday,
November 29th. As part of the cultural
exchange program between the cities of
Orlando and Urayasu, four runners
are coming to Orlando to run in the OUC half
marathon. The ORC then sends four runners to
Urayasu for the half marathon in February.
Please help us welcome: Mr. Noriyoshi
FURUSHIMA and his wife Naoko; Ms.
Kyoko YAMADA; Mr. Koichi KAKIMOTO,
his wife Misako and daughter Anna; and
Ms. Akiko YAGI.
Mr. Noriyoshi FURUSHIMA (33) has a
half- marathon PR of 1:17:47 and a full
marathon PR of 2:53:54. His hobby is
running. He is traveling to Orlando with his
wife Naoko. His message: “With an honor to
be a selected runner from the City of
Urayasu, I will continue my training towards
setting my own best time.”
Ms. Kyoko YAMADA (38) has a half-
marathon PR of 1:33:53 and a full marathon
PR of 3:27:47. Her hobbies include Japanese
Tea Ceremony and Scuba Diving. Her message:
“I want to enhance (cultivate) the
friendship with residents of Orlando through
the enjoyment of running. I have been living
in Urayasu-city for awhile, but this is
going to be my first time to be a part of
Sister-City Program. I am looking forward to
this opportunity.
Mr. Koichi KAKIMOTO(47) has a
half- marathon PR of 1:23 and a full
marathon PR of 3:11. He has been running for
12 years. His hobbies are to make new
friends through running, to play sports, and
to watch sports. He is traveling to Orlando
with his wife Misako and his daughter Anna.
His message: “With enhancing (cultivating)
the mutual friendship with friends of
Orlando Runners Club, we would like to make
more friends and deliver the fineness of
Urayasu-City.”
Ms. Akiko YAGI(43) has a
half-marathon PR of 1:40:34 and a full
marathon PR of 3:47:28. She has been running
for 13 years. Her hobby is travel. Her
message: “In order to make this precious
opportunity a valuable experience, I would
like to spend this opportunity wisely.”
Volunteers are needed to host our
guests during their stay. Greeters are
needed to meet them at the airport on their
arrival Wednesday evening, day hosts are
needed Thursday - Sunday, and we invite all
ORC club members and guests to attend the
ORC Annual Holiday Party on Saturday
evening. As a day host, you will accompany
our friends as they tour various Orlando
area attractions. For more information, or
